Join our guides as we explore arctic nature
We will show you how we catch fish under the ice

Learn how to fish on ice

Once we are approprately dressed for the cold weather, We then hike out to the lake, and start ice fishing by drilling through the thick ice with a special ice drill and set our fishing poles with bait in the river beneath. When it is this cold, you don’t want to wait around for the fish to bite.

Look for wildlife

Instead of waiting around and freezing, we hike out into the nature for about an hour. We might see wildlife around, depending on the season, we might see moose, reindeer, arctic hare and more. Then we find wood to make a fire to have some warm drinks, usually traditional lingonberry juice and toast marshmallows on the fire that we will make in the snow.

Feel the quiet calm of the Swedish Arctic

Experience what it's like to survive in the arctic!

Includes hot lunch & Fika

Once we are warm and rested, we will hike back to the ice fishing spot to see if we have caught anything. Importantly, we release the fish back into the water to protect the fish population in winter. After that, we hike back to home base, you can stop in our laavu for soup, sandwiches and Swedish Fika. Furthermore you can hang out with our dogs for a bit if you like. After that your adventure is then complete with us, and we will take you back to your pickup point with great memories of your time at Kiruna Husky!
