Kiruna Northern Lights Snowshoe Hike
Immerse yourself in the Arctic’s serene night with our Kiruna Husky Northern Lights Snowshoe Hike.
Northern lights magic
While you hike through the serene arctic night you’ll have the opportunity to see the Northern Lights undisturbed by civilization. With a bit of luck you will be covered in magic when the Aurora Borealis is dancing in the Sky above. On this evening tour you will get a full polar night experience until April comes with it`s long and bright days. Bring your camera for an opportunity for some once in a lifetime photos. It is advised to check aurora forecasts, such as Aurora Reach to check the possibility.
Hike through swedish nature
If we are not lucky with the Northern light we still have plenty to do. During your exploration, you’ll hike across a lake and a peaceful forest, all while keeping an eye out for the local wildlife. With some luck, you might spot reindeer, moose, Arctic hares, or even “Ripa,” Kiruna’s official bird. Surely, we will find and identify their tracks in the snow.
hike with snowshoes
The Snowshoes we provide will help you traverse the deep snow by spreading your weight so you do not sink. On the hike, your Guide will tell you about nature and wildlife in the Swedish Tundra. We keep an eye out for animal tracks and trails to identify. You will learn how to find dry firewood in the snow-covered forest, to make a warming fire and grill marshmallows.
